Pillars Coach Blames Hardluck For Enyimba Draw

In a duel of former champions, Enyimba International extended their unbeaten run to six matches after forcing hosts,Kano Pillars Football to a 1-1 draw in a match day 9 fixture Sunday evening.

But Coach of Pillars, Musa Ibrahim, whose side are also on a stretch of unbeaten run attributed the score line to hard luck. Pillars started the game on a fast note but the defence line of Enyimba fought off the offensive to curtail the early forays of the former league champions attack spearheaded by Alhassan Ibrahim, Junior Lokosa and Nwangwa Nyima.

Pillars Coach, Ibrahim speaking to npfl.com after the match, said though Enyimba was a good side, the failure of his players to convert the chances they had and the good goalkeeping of Fatua Dauda denied them victory.

“We were not just lucky today, the players played their best but mother luck did not smile at us. I must commend my players for the effort, and we have forgotten about the match, our target now is going to Enugu to rediscover ourselves.

“I am sure with good officiating as we witnessed today, we can beat Rangers in Enugu and recover the two points we dropped but I admit Enyimba is a good side. I am however not just happy with the unnecessary delay tactics they employed in the second half, well that is football for you.
