Auto Crash Kills Conductor On Lagos-Ibadan Highway

The Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE) confirmed on Wednesday that one person died while two others sustained severe injuries in an accident that occurred on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
The Public Relations Officer of TRACE, Mr Babatunde Akinbiyi, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ota near Abeokuta that the accident happened in front of ASCON Filling Station at about 8.02 a.m.
Akinbiyi said that two vehicles and 12 people were involved in the accident.
He said that a commercial bus with registration number KTU 449 XU was trying to overtake a Honda Civic car with registration number EKY-65 EQ but had a tyre burst and rammed into the Honda car.
Akinbiyi said that the conductor of the bus hit his head against a metal in the bus, resulting to his death.
“The corpse has been deposited at the mortuary of the Divine Hospital at Ibafo in Ogun, while the injured persons are also receiving intensive treatment at the same hospital.”
He advised motorists to be cautious and to desist from over-speeding to ensure safety of lives and property on the roads.
