Nasarawa To Conduct Council Election May 26

The Nasarawa State Independent Electoral Commission (NASEIC), has fixed Saturday May 26, 2018 for the conduct of local government election in the state.

The commission’s acting chairman, Aliyu Mohammed Dogara, disclosed this in a press statement issued to newsmen in Lafia, yesterday.

He said other details and timetable concerning conduct of the council polls would be released to the public any moment.

“This is to inform all political parties and members of the public that, the Nasarawa State Independent Electoral Commission (NASEIC), by virtue of the law establishing it and, pursuant to Paragraph 3 part II of the third schedule to the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended, 1999), has concluded arrangements to hold it’s Local Government Elections of 2018 on Saturday, 26th May, 2018”

“Collection and submission of forms by candidates and political parties shall be at the headquarters of the commission at the former state Library Board Headquarters, Shendam road, Lafia” he said.

The acting chairman called on all political parties to commence preparations towards the poll,  while the commission prepare to hold meeting with them.
