Niger Gov Suspends Task Force On Registration Of Motorcycles, Others

Niger State governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani-Bello has directed the immediate suspension of taskforce on enforcement of renewal/registration of motor cycles and other vehicle documents.

A statement by the chief press secretary, Jibrin Ndace and made available to journalists yesterday  also disclosed that , Governor Sani-Bello  has  directed the release of  all impounded motor-cycles on presentation of valid  proof of ownership.

Ndace disclosed in the statement that further to this directive, Governor Abubakar Sani -Bello has also approved a grace period of one month ending on the 1st  April, 2018 .

Consequently the Chief Press Secretary  stated that  the Governor has , within the grace period,   approved reduction in the purchase of number plates of motor-cycles from N6,200 to N3,500.

In view of this development Ndace stated that  the Governor had admonished all defaulters to take advantage of the grace period to renew their vehicle particulars.   

“The public is advised to note that the government does not have any intention to sell off impounded motorcycles as being insinuated., All actions taken so far is geared towards the safety and security of citizens of Niger State,” the statement added.
