Youths from different organizations across the North-East have converged in Gombe to mobilize support for former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar’s Presidential ambition.

The youths made their position known when they paid a courtesy call on a People’s Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain in Gombe, Senator Saidu Umar Kumo, in his residence.

Leader of the delegation, Jibrin Kabir said their visit was to welcome Senator Kumo back to the PDP fold after he announced his exit from the party during an address to journalist in the state on the 22 January, 2018, citing injustice and unfair treatment as reasons for his decision.

Jibrin said with politicians like Senator Kumo, Atiku will surely fly the PDP’s ticket and God’s willing, he’ll win the general election in 2019.

According to the youths, Senator Kumo is one of the northern political icon and master of all political chemistries in the country and they remain optimistic that the Atiku Project will be successful.

In his words, “We are all living witnesses when Garkuwa (Senator Kumo) led the Dankwambo’s campaign organization in the 2015 general elections where he defied the Buhari’s tsunami and successfully delivered Dankwambo as the first PDP governor to win his election in the entire north and later his Taraba State counterpart, Darius Dickson Ishaku”.

Senator Saidu Umar Kumo had on Wednesday 28 February 2018, barely a month to his last action, announced his return to the Peoples Democratic Party in a press conference with Journalists at his Abuja Lowcost residence, Gombe.

Kumo also said he’s in the PDP to give his support to the presidential ambition of Atiku Abubakar in the upcoming 2019 general elections.
