An aspirant to the House of Representatives in Lagos State, Mr. Olawale Ebietomiye, has commenced sensitization programme for voters in his constituency on the need to obtain their Permanent Voters’ Card (PVC). The sensitization rally tagged, ‘Go out and Register’, which was held at Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency of the state attracted many electorates and personalities of the area, including the council chairman, Com. Valentine Oluwaseyi Buraimoh.
Ebietomiye who is seeking the mandate of the people of the constituency called on the people to come out enmasse and register for the coming 2019 general elections.
The aspirant told the people that PVCs is their only sure way of electing people of their choice, adding that it was important for them to participate in the ongoing voter registration.
He further called on the people not to joke with the ongoing voter registration, adding that it was part of their civic responsibility to register and vote, just as he noted that their PVC would stop the emergence of charlatan, who after seeking their mandate would only resort to serving their personal interest.
A statement signed by the aspirant, who was made available newsmen yesterday, noted that Ebietomiye had always served the people of his constituency through Olawale Ebietomiye Foundation, a nongovernmental organisation (NGO), which he uses to reach out to the needy and vulnerable in the area.
He also noted that the All Progressives Congress (APC) remained the only viable alternative in the quest for a greater Nigeria, stressing that the electorates must be discerning in their choice of who become their elective representatives in 2019.
