Adding to its prestigious line-up of extraordinary expert speakers and advisors, the International Government Communication Forum (IGCF), organised by the International Government Communication Centre (IGCC), is to host 14-year-old Tanmay Bakshi, widely acknowledged to be the youngest Artificial Intelligence (AI) expert in the world and a member of IBM’s AI team in Canada.
In line with the ‘UAE Artificial Intelligence Strategy’ and its dedication to implementing AI in the government communication sector, Bakshi will be appearing on the first day of the seventh edition of the forum, which will be held on 28-29 March at Expo Centre Sharjah.
The remarkable child prodigy from Canada will participate in a panel themed ‘AI as the Key to the Future of Government Communication’. He will address how to harness AI to overcome the challenges that face government communication action and how governments can build and develop talented young generations to further support the implementation of AI.
Despite his young age, Bakshi is a writer, lecturer, programme developer and specialist in algorithm cloud technology. He has developed a number of highly advanced and valuable open-source applications, meaning that developers and technology experts across the world can use them to develop smart programmes, systems and other applications.
Bakshi’s extraordinary skills started when he was just 6-year-old, as he took an obsessive interest in his father’s expertise as a programmer. A year later, he established a programming channel on YouTube that became an online academy for learning internet skills. He also programmed his first IOS application for iPhone when he was nine years old.
His talents attracted the attention of computing giant IBM, which offered him a consulting position and hosted him at many of their global conferences. At one event, he spoke in front of 25,000 people, and at another addressed 10,000 programmers and developers.
The UAE Artificial Intelligence Strategy aims to elevate government performance, accelerate achievements and build creative, innovative and highly productive environments through implementing the latest AI technologies in all fields of work efficiently and effectively. It also aims to harness all talents and optimise human and financial resources to enhance the implementation of developmental programmes and projects for a better future.
