Obaland Awards Organisers Warn Against Fraud, Touting

The Chief Aiwansoba of Uselu, Benin Kingdom, Collins Omede Nosayaba  and other constituent  traditional rulers have warned entertainment industry touts in Nigeria to desist from misinforming the people in other to gain favour from them.

He said all information about the Obaland Award, a nonprofit recognition of personalities in the Entertainment and socio-polical spheres can be sourced via its official website, www.obalandawards.com.

Also, Oba Ewuare II, has said drastic measure has been taken to ensure that anyone who profits from others effort illegally from the entertainment industry would be considered traffickers.

The Obaland awards has two major categories, namely  “Obaland Music Awards” which is the national and “Obaland Royal Awards” which is (International)  both constituted by  45 traditional rulers under His Royal Majesty, Oba Ewuare II,  to be national  “Honour”. The memorandum  and act, were written under  traditional ruler’s national act No 4, with similarities to  the National Honours Act No. 5 of 1964, during the First Nigerian Republic, to  recognise  personalities, with indisputable hard work in terms of  social presence , Government  institutions, privates  or in entertainment industry.

The process has in-house procedures and could be given anytime of the year by Obaland academy committee only, without nominations or public votes.

Obaland Awards, is a collective idea of various companies, renowned non- Governmental organisations, Edo State Government, entrepreneurs, and entertainment professionals. Its awards are divided into two: “Obaland Royal Awards” and “Obaland Music Awards” (OMA), Obaland Royal Awards (ORA) (International) is the highest honour for extraordinary achievements. They are meant to honour individuals, Government, religious persons, private and organisations that has made marks in the areas of music and humanitarian services, for developers of projects and technological inventions and “interventions which has helped better the lives of the Edo people anywhere in the world, this award could be given anytime of the year by in house members of Obaland academy. Obaland Music Awards (National) is the second level of honours, given only to Nigerians with achievement.
