The All Progressives Congress (APC) Niger South has endorsed Niger State Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello as the candidate of the party for 2019 governorship election in the state.

The endorsement was contained in the resolution of the executive committee of the party signed in a communiqué of a committee made up of Barrister Mohammed A. Liman, Salihu Ndagi, Ibrahim Tauheed and Hon Idris Ndasode Yahaya.

The zonal committee resolved thus; “ that the state Governor, His Excellency, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello having performed creditably well is hereby unanimously adopted/endorsed as a candidate for the 2019 general elections”.

It also condemned the recent disturbances by some youths in Bida when the Governor visited scene of the fire outbreak that wreaked havoc on Etsu Musa Market recently, saying that the act was politically motivated by the adversaries of the party.

They therefore resolved in the communiqué to put in place a committee to investigate the incident in order to be able to forestall future occurrences.

According to the communiqué, the committee examined and noted what it alleged as clandestine activities of some members of the party from the zone in organizing party meetings and taking decisions whereas they don’t have the constitutional power to do so.

While saying that such decision taken by unconstitutional meeting will not represent the position of the party in the senatorial district, the committee posited that, “anybody found to have contravened the position and organize a meeting will be made to face the party’s disciplinary committee of the zone”.
