The chairman of Gwagwalada Area Council, Adamu Mustapha Danze has said that the nation needs leadership by example to overcome challenges bedevilling it.
Hon Adamu stated this over the weekend during an inspection tour of waste evacuation within the council
He said that his administration is concerned with the general health of the environment.
He added that he was worried over the unevaluated refuse collection points which necessitated his personal supervision of the evacuation exercise.
“We are conscious of the general health of the environment, I was convened when the refuse collection points were at a huge stage and the environment very dirty. I have to see things myself to make be sure of what we are doing, to make sure our refuse collection points are generally cleaned up not for somebody reporting to me,” he said
He disclosed that in a recent inspection and assessment, he realised that many communities in the council are in dire need of potable water.
He assured that his administration will provide boreholes to the villages to increase access to clean water.
“There are a lot of villages that water is a general problem, they need boreholes and soonest we will embark on water projects in those villages,” he reiterated
He assured the residents that resources accruing to the council will be used transparently.
