A youth organisation in Gombe State, Walama Network, has urged the state Commissioner for Local government and chieftaincy affairs, Ahamed Abubakar Walama to vie for the governorship seat in the state.
Making the call on behalf of other members of the organisation in Gombe on Friday, its Chairman, Sani Abubakar, said the situation in Gombe required a leader with focus, experience and sense of dedication, to continue with the good works of Governor Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo.
“For us to sustain and continue the giant strides recorded by our amiable governor and leader governor Ibrahim Dankwambo, the good people of Gombe should consider Hon. Ahmed Abubakar Walama (Dangaladiman Dukku) as the right candidate to succeed him.” Sani said.
Adding that “Since one of the important objectives of democracy is the desire to improve the living conditions of the people, the need to address the fundamental issue of collective political understanding under the popular banner is indeed imperative.”
According to him Walama is known all over the state as a competent and experience politician with integrity and a rich track record to take Gombe to greater heights.
“Walama as a local government chairman of Dukku for over 8 years and a serving commissioner since the inception of this administration, he has made positive impact in the area of social sector, community development and empowering youths and women. His relationship and constant touch with the people represent not only hope for stability, but a wonderful trust and peaceful coexistence.”
“Our call on Walama to contest in the forthcoming gubernatorial election is for him to bring his wealth of experience to the benefit of our people. ” Sani added.
He therefore argued that with Walama as the state governor, Gombe will continue to witness a positive transformation.
