Team AFFP Takes Campaign To Schools

As part of its efforts to drive their vision to sustaining peace in Africa, the organisers of African Fashion For Peace (AFFP), have taken #peacemybusiness campaign to  the Handmaid Girls Secondary School in Kuje, Abuja. The organiser, Hopez Chioma Offor, explained that the courtesy visit to the school came as a result of the school being known for grooming of young girls and also a school for one of ambassadors of the project.

She noted that about 15 countries around Africa are presently in conflict and Nigeria is not left out with the recent clashes between herdsmen and farmers and as such, the onus is on all to make peace their business. Offor also thanked Mr and Mrs Joseph Omolowo, parents of Little Miss Nigeria, Africa Stephenie Omolowo, who have been a big support to the peace project and the young Queen’s school, for the opportunity given to the team to promote peace.

The young Queen, Stephanie Omolowo, who is also the Global Face of AFFP,  in an interview with LEADERSHIP Friday, expressed her joy for the visit, adding thait it is a laudable initiative and as such, she hopes to put up a programme in collaboration with government to promote peace in the society. The school principal, Rev Sister Agnes Ijoko, commended the initiative. While also commending the young Queen’s outstanding character as an ambassador, she added that she is encouraged that their task of grooming young girls  is bearing fruit in the  leadership qualities the young Queen exudes.

She urged parents to support their children for service of humanity which, according to her, is an area that everyone should contribute to.
