Former Green Eagles captain, Patrick Olusegun Odegbami has urged President –General of the Nigeria Football Supporters, Dr Rafiu Oladipo to take practical steps to rescue the Nigeria Football Supporters Club from collapse.

Lamenting the crisis rocking the club, Odegbami, who described Rafiu Oladipo as a leader of supporters club, wants him to rise above small issues and reconcile the two factions.

“It is one country, one Nigeria and there should be no struggle over who is chairman or not. You should not be involve in the struggle because whatever anybody does, you will not be left behind for the role you have played over the years. Now you are more than any local government chairman or whatsoever.

“Move above pet issues, reconcile the two groups and join the three million culture friendly supporters that the National Council for Arts and culture want to galvanise and mobilise to cheer the Super Eagles in Russia,” said Odegbami.

The Nigerian Football Supporters Club has been engulfing in crisis with Rev. Samuel Ikpea and Vincent Okumagba laying claims to the leadership of the body.

The Ikpea faction is backed by majority of the members, including Rafiu Ladipo, who is the president general of the body, while Okumagba is supported by the younger elements, who want change in leadership from Ladipo’s over 20 years of controlling the body.
