Chairman Technical and Development committee of 0111111111111110111 Ahmed Fresh Yusuf, has put his weight behind the forthcoming ‘FCT Grassroots Athletics Meet’ with two hundred thousand naira (N200, 000) donation.
The Niger State FA chairman has consistently supports grassroots sports events in different part of the country for many years, which has brought him much recognition, made the cash donation to the coordinator of the grassroots athletics meet for primary school pupils in FCT, Tolulope Oguntimehin.
He charged the organisers to ensure they achieve the objectives of the event.
Oguntimehin commended Mr Fresh for his support to grassroots sports development.
He also applauded Cold Stone Creamery, who has promised to provide gifts for the participants.
The athletics meet first of its kind in FCT, is expected to cover primary school pupils from the six Area councils-Abaji, AMAC, Bwari, Gwagwalada, Kuje and Kwali.
The event is aiming at discovering and harnessing talented athlete at foundation School level and giving them opportunities to develop their gifts.
The Pupils are expected to participate in the 100m, 200m, 400m, 4x100m, high jump and long jump for boys and girls category.
The preliminary round of competition at the different Area Councils is scheduled for May 2, while the grand finale would hold May 9, 2018 at the National Stadium, Abuja.
