Nigeria’s Super Eagles yesterday, beat fellow World Cup-bound Poland 1-0 in an international friendly match in Worclaw, Poland.
Victor Moses scored the only goal of the match from the spot kick to give the Super Eagles a deserved victory. The Chelsea of England ace effortless converted the spot kick which he placed at the right side of the goal post to beat the Poland goalkeeper who went kneel-down to the right side.
Moses was brought down from a cluster of three Poland players in the 60th minutes before the centre referee blew for a spot kick.
Eagles’ coach, Gernot Rohr without his captain John Obi Mikel, who misses out due to logistic problems, paraded the trio of Kelechi Iheanacho, Wilfred Ndidi and Joel Obi in midfield.
Behind them, Deportivo La Coruna goalkeeper Francis Uzoho makes his first start for Nigeria.
Also, Morocco and Tunisia defeated Serbia and Iran respectively in international friendlies, yesterday as the North Africans picked up morale-boosting wins on the road to Russia.
However, Senegal were unimpressive as they were held 1-1 by Uzbekistan in Casablanca, with Moussa Konate equalising after the Teranga Lions had fallen behind. Egypt lost 2-1 to Cristiano Ronaldo inspired Portugal.
