An indigenous agro-allied and healthcare company, Harvestfield Industries Limited, has pledged to return Nigeria to the days of the Kano groundnut pyramids.
Speaking exclusively to LEADERSHIP Weekend, President of the company, Martins Aderemi Awofisayo said, “Our vision is to be the leading solution-provider for agricultural farming systems in Nigeria and the West Africa sub region and we are in line with the ongoing efforts by the Federal Government towards achieving zero reject of our products for exports, thereby earning foreign exchange through exports and economic divrsification.
“We also hope, in strong terms, to soonest, bring Nigeria back to the lost days of groundnut pyramids, as well as multiply yield in other major Nigerian agricultural crops.”
Harvestfield Industries Limited was recently signed in by the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), Ibadan to manufacture and distribute Aflasafe, a recent intervention for the control of aflatoxins, which have been ravaging some important agricultural produce in Africa, including groundnuts and maize.
He said that in preparation for the assignment on hand, his company already has 18 warehouses across the country, covering all the geopolitical zones, adding that in the next few weeks, additional eight warehouses would be ready for use.
