The League of Civil Society Group has commended President Muhammadu Buhari’s proactive approach which lead to the rescue of 105 Dapchi School Girls who were kidnapped by the dreaded Boko Haram insurgents on February 19, 2018.
The group in a statement by its President, Kamaldeen Adefila lauded the spirited effort of Federal Government and other stakeholders that were instrumental to the release of the girls.
“we at the league of Civil Society Group heartily commend and congratulate President Muhammad Buhari over the release of the Kidnapped Dapchi School Girls.
“The rescue of the girls is a clear pointer to the present administration’s commitment to always deliver on its promises. We remember the President did promised that the girls would be rescued in shortest possible time and we are glad the promise has come to fruition”. Adefila said.
He however called on Federal Government to deploy more personnel to secure schools in the North east so as to avert the incessant scourge of kidnapping in the region.
Asefila also cautioned the two major political parties in the county (APC and PDP) to stop the war of words over the rescue of the girls saying “ the country at this time doesn’t need neither the APC nor PDP to politize the abduction and eventual release of the Dapchi School Girls, rather, what the country need at this time is everyone’s support to President Muhammadu Buhari’s led administration on the best way to ensure that our schools are safe and well secured for our school children “. He submitted.
The abducted girls regained freedom on Wednesday, more than four weeks after the insurgents invaded the Government Girls Science and Technical College, Dapchi, in Yobe State.
Of the 110 girls snatched by Boko Haram on February 19, government said 104 were returned by the terrorists while six were unaccounted for.
