Ukrainian Trade Mission To visit Nigeria In April

A trade delegation, “First Trade Mission of Ukraine is set to visit Nigeria from April 3-6, 2018.

The Ukrainian Trade Mission will be headed by H.E. Trade Representative of Ukraine – Deputy Minister for Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine, Mrs. Nataliia Mykolska, who is also a special envoy of H.E. President of Ukraine Mr. Petro Poroshenko to Nigeria.

Others in the Ukrainian delegation includes Deputy Minister for Agrarian policy and Food of Ukraine Mrs. Olga Trofimtseva, Vice-president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ukraine Mr. Sergii Svystil as well as representatives of number of Ukrainian companies working in such fields as international trade, agrarian and food industry, automotive and aviation, engineering and IT-technology, chemical and pharmaceutical production.

The visit of Ukrainian Trade delegation is at the instance of the Embassy of Ukraine in the Federal Republic of Nigeria, in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Nigeria and Office for Trade Negotiations, NACCIMA and Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Abuja and Lagos.

The Mission is expected to visit Lagos on April 4, 2018, where the following events will be held: Nigeria-Ukrainian Business Forum in Lagos CCI, meetings with the Lagos State Governor and with Director of “Dangote-Group” company. A Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation between Lagos CCI and CCI of Ukraine is expected to be signed.

The delegation will be in Abuja on April 5, 2018, it is envisaged the Nigeria-Ukrainian Trade & Investment Integration Forum with support of the Secretariat of Nigerian Federal Government with participation of number of Heads of Nigerian Ministries and Government bodies.

The Nigeria-Ukrainian Business Forum will take place in Abuja CCI on April 6, 2018, where active contacts between Nigerian and Ukrainian entrepreneurs are expected. A Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation between Abuja CCI and CCI of Ukraine will be signed in the course of these events.

During the visit also, it is expected that the Head of Ukrainian Trade Mission Mrs. Nataliia Mykolska will pay courtesy call on President Muhammadu Buhari to deliver a personal message of the President of Ukraine.

A press statement from Ukraine Embassy in Abuja, urged Representatives of Nigerian business and Media to take part in the events of Ukrainian Trade Mission to Nigeria and to make fruitful contacts with Ukrainian delegation on the state and perspectives of bilateral economic, trade and investment cooperation between Ukraine and Nigeria.
