The National Executive Council (NEC) of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University (NAU) has inaugurated officials of the Abuja chapter of the varsity’s Alumni Association.
Addressing the newly inaugurated excos, national president, Barr. Nwafili Okwuosa, urged them to reclaim the glory of the Abuja branch by running an all-inclusive union where old and new members feel welcome, urging them to be open minded and assiduous in their activities.
“I’ll advise you to avoid the pitfalls of the past, by this I mean, the idea of trying to clique in the association. This is not the kind of association that a clique works”
In her inaugural address, the branch chairman, Laura Madu promised to foster the ideals of the alma mater, pledging to make the branch association a reference point to other associations.
Madu sought the support of the officials and members, saying the alumni can only achieve great feats through team work.
“I will strive to foster the ideals of the university while here in Abuja. As the current chairman, I will strive also to make sure that Abuja becomes a reference point at any time an alumnus is mention. I also look forward to the full support of the house. I believe so much in team work because I know that together we can achieve so much. So, if everybody be on board we’ll surely get to our destination. We’re going to be united and will come out stronger and better than we used to be,” she added.
