The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has debunked report that the agency is recruiting.

A statement made available to LEADERSHIP Weekend yesterday in Abuja, the head, press and public relations NAPTIP, Nneka Aniagoh, urged to members of the public to disregard such information, describing it as ‘’fraudulent claims and announcements.’’

Aniagoh also urged members of the public not to patronize anyone that approaches them with information to offer or pay money to anyone to be employed at NAPTIP.

The statement reads in part: ‘’The attention of the NAPTIP has been drawn to online publications announcing a purported recruitment of personnel at NAPTIP for 2018/2019.

‘’For the records there is no recruitment exercise going on in NAPTIP at present. The announcement is fake and fraudulent.

‘’Members of the public are therefore, urged to disregard this fraudulent claims and announcements. NAPTIP is not carrying out any recruitment, yet, and will duly inform the public through appropriate channels, if and when such a recruitment exercise comes up.

‘’The general public is therefore, advised to ignore the fraudulent publication as it has nothing to do with NAPTIP. Do not patronize the anyone that approaches you with any such offer or pay money to anyone in the name of gaining employment at NAPTIP. The Agency is not involved in any way with these online publications.’’
