Why I Am Vying For Adamawa North Senatorial District – Walin Mubi

An All Progressives Congress (APC) stalwart, Alhaji Hamid Mahmud, has vowed to ameliorate the suffering of people of Adamawa Central Senatorial District, from high rate of poverty, unemployment and drug abuse.

Mahmud, who is also Walin Mubi, alleged that Sen Binta Massi and others from the constituency, have not attracted the enabling dividend of democracy to the plight of the people ravaged by insurgency.

He stated this at a press conference at the end of his tour and meeting with party executives in northern zone of the state and the present occupant of the senatorial seat.

“We have about four major federal roads in terrible condition, but our elected representatives are yet to tell us what is happening to those roads.

“I am challenged by the lacklustre kind of approach to representation by our members of National Assembly. This is why I feel I should go there and make a difference,” Mahmud said.

“These are challenges we ought to face otherwise we will be sorry for our inactivity. This is why I feel I should go to National Assembly and make a difference,” Mahmud said.

On herders/farmers’ crisis in the state, he called for security summit by stakeholders to check the problem.

“Adamawa Government just recently held a successful anti corruption summit, graced by Mr President. I feel a security summit should follow immediately.

“We saw what happened in Rwanda, Northern Ireland; they had to come back to a round table conference.

“Those are all lessons we need to derive experience from. God created us all; our differences should not lead us to be killing ourselves! Where is our humanity?

“Let’s us come to a round table to discuss and proffer solutions on how we can live together as brothers and sisters,” Mahmud said.
