Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has said many erudite Christians are holding various positions in the present administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.
Osinbajo stated this in Yola,at a thanksgiving service at Supernatural God Ministry organized to celebrate the 50th birthday of Sen Binta Masi Garba representing Adamawa central in the National Assembly.
He appreciated God for the appointment of good Christians into the APC-led administration in the country.
He admitted that only prayers of men of God that can make those in government achieve success in piloting the affairs of the nation.
“We are in the period of history, where God wants to do something for us,that is why we are in government.
“Every appointee who made positive impact in government was supported by the prayers of men of God in this country.
“We want you to sit down and pray for the future of this country because what we leave behind is what is important for the people.
Osinbanjo commended the resilence of Sen Binta Masi Garba despite family challenges and neglect at tender age.
The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha reminded the celebrants that her age signifies deliverance from debt and inheritance as mentioned in the Holy Bible.
Mustapha urged the lawmaker to continue to do more to the people of Nigeria, through prudent representations at the National Assembly.
Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi lauded the testimonies of the senator, adding that is not easy for one to convert to Christianity at a tender age without challenges.
Earlier, Sen Garba urged Christians to forget the past and look into the future while appreciating God’s blessings upon her.
She thanked God for a successful life, admitting that the challenges she faced has moulded her to achieve success in life.
The lawmaker donated a brand new Volkswagen car,N500,000 and foodstuff to the government orphanage home and daycare as gift to commemorate her birthday to support the health needs of the orphans.
She added that her office has concluded plans to provide similar support to 500 internally displaced children expected to be repatriated from Cameroon republic soon.
Receiving the items,Maisaratu Bello,Permanent Secretary Ministry of Women Affairs thanked the lawmaker for identifying with the orphans in the state.
She disclosed that the orphanage is receiving nothing less than five (5) to ten (10) motherless children either abandoned in cemeteries or drainages in the state.
She has equally distributed empowerment equipment to 1000 widows in her constituency as means of livelihood to widows who lost their bread winners in her constituency.
Items distributed are 600 animals, 500 branding machines,500 sewing machines, wrappers and cash to the widows in Madagali, Michika, Mubi-North, Mubi-South and Maiha local governments.
The highlight of the occasion was cutting of her birthday cake with the orphans.
