New sponsor of the Lagos City International Marathon, Revolution Plus has promised to add more colours to the IAAF bronze-label event.

At a media briefing in Lagos, yesterday, Managing Director, Revolution Plus, Bamidele Onalaja said the real estate and property development outfit is proud to be involved in a big project like the Lagos City Marathon as it reputation continue to soar each year.
The five-year title sponsorship goes for N500m.

“We are proud to be a title sponsor of the Lagos City international Marathon for the next five years starting with the 2019 edition. Sport is very important for human life; if you are involved in sporting activities, you tend to have a healthy and longer life,” he said adding that one of the reasons it is getting involved is that the sponsorship is part of its corporate social responsibility

Executive Director, Revolution Plus, Mrs Tolulope Onalaja said though they were approached to be a community sponsor which is N20m yearly, they chose to get involved in a much bigger way as the expectation was surpassed with what was on offer at the last edition held on February 10, 2018.

Lagos City International Marathon Consultant, Bukola Olopade described as the most understanding and seamless sponsorship it has ever had stressing that the enthusiasm shown by Revolution Plus was overwhelming.

Olpade said the coming on board of a real estate as sponsor is good omen pointing that other reputable global marathon like those of Dubai and New York have major sponsors that are from the real estate.

General Manager, Lagos City Marathon, Yusuf Ali said they are happy to see Revolution Plus coming on board for the marathon, a programme he described as the biggest one-day event in Africa.
