Adamawa SDP Guber Hopeful, Behora Refutes Arrest Claims

An aspirant for Adamawa state governorship position, Mr Abel Behora, has denied news reports that he was arrested and detained by the Adamawa State Police Command.

Behora, who is running  on the platform of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), insists that he was neither invited nor arrested by the police.

Behora, via a statement, said he read with great dismay the news about his arrest and detention by the Adamawa State Police Command in some media platforms.

He blamed news mongers and muck-rakers for the news and wondered why such elements remained bent on inciting the public against constituted authority and giving the impression that he was arrested, following an interview which he granted.

Behora insisted that he never granted any interview to any media house and has not made any inciting statement to any group of people, neither did he defame the character of any person or group.

Also, he insisted that he did not incite the public against the constituted authority of this nation at any time and that, most importantly, he was never arrested, invited or held by the police to explain statements he made.

Behora confessed to being disappointed by the development, but assured that it was an attempt by a few undesirable elements who see in him a true opponent, heading into the guber race.
