It was a beehive of activity and fun at the Muri Okunola Park, Victoria Island as the exquisite launch of Tiger lager beer was held and celebrities joined the public to witness the launch. It was also a physical contest in tower climbing as former Big Brother Naija housemate, TBOSS competed with another lady contestant.
Hosted by Big Brother Amplified winner, Uti Nwachukwu, the launch afforded the audience to feel and taste the brew which only few hours in the Nigerian market, the product had found acceptance amongst beer lovers with its 45cl debut SKU already.
In his remarks, Portfolio Manager, International Premium at Nigerian Breweries, Tokunbo Adodo, said, “Tiger Beer identifies with the bold Nigerian, whose passion gives birth to a sense of purpose, while the Tiger sign is a symbol of courage and inner strength. This beer is for the courageous, and will be anchored around creativity, and inspiring real stories of people living their full potentials, and making their mark.”
According to the organiser, the beer is arguably the world’s fastest growing premium brand growing by 24 per cent year on year (2015), and currently marketed in over 60 countries, including the UK, the US, Singapore, Vietnam, China, Australia and now Nigeria. The statement from organisers read, ‘Tiger’s #uncage tagline simply means the courage to challenge convention. Uncaging your life from the bordered or clichéd life you have been living and breaking free from the norm.’
Even as the ‘black diamond’, Wande Coal serenaded guests with his repertoire of hit songs, the physical and mental contest tagged ‘Unleash your fear’ attracted energetic and young men and women to the exercise. Anchored by the loud and talented OAP Murphy Jemba, the launch took a new dimension as cheer leaders- pretty girls choreographed to the admiration of the on looking crowd.
Celebrities like actor Deyemi Okanlawon, R&B singer, Darey and OAPs to name a few were some of the celebrity guests that graced the occasion.
“I love the crisp refreshing, light and unique taste of the beer. I also particularly enjoy that feeling of belonging to the ‘Uncage’ tribe which of course identifies with the struggles of people like me who are breaking boundaries and going against the odds to forge a path for ourselves,” remarked Kolade Oguntoke, a guest at the launch event.
