Katsina APC Conducts Hitch-free Ward Congress

Ward congress of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been conducted peacefully across Katsina State with President Muhammadu Buahri, governor Aminu Bello Masari and the State Resident Electoral Commissioner  of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Ibrahim Jubril Zarewa, in attendance at Sarkin Yara’A’ Ward, Daura, the home town of Buhari.

In Katsina metropolis, the exercise was conducted hitch-free in all the 13 wards across the state capital, the state deputy governor, Mannir Yakubu, who participated in the exercise at Kudu 1 Ward, told LEADERSHIP at the weekend.

Yakubu hailed the large turn out of the party supporters during the congress which witnessed long queues of men, women and youths in most of the wards  polling units as worthy of emulation.

The deputy governor attributed the hitch free conduct of the exercise to the adequate preparations made by state and national levels of the party and the commitment of President Muhammadu Buhari and governor Aminu Bello Masari to the peaceful and citizen-participatory style of leadership.

He also lauded the maturity exhibited by the APC faithful at the congress which, he said, contributed to the emergence of several ward leadership through affirmative elections.

At Kudu 1 Ward in Katsina local government area of the state, the newly elected chairman, Ibrahim El-Yakubu, expressed gratitude to the party supporters for the confidence reposed in him and his executive and promised to carry all members of the ward along in running its affairs for them to work tirelessly for the victory of party in 2019.

Meanwhile, the state chairman of the local organising committee of the ward congress and Secretary to the Government of the State (SGS), Dr Mustapha Muhammadu Inuwa, had expressed appreciation over the peaceful conduct of the exercise across the state and charged the party loyalists to sustain their zeal for decisive success of APC in the 2019 general elections.
