The Emir of Katsina, Alhaji Abdulmumini Kabir Usman, yesterday (Monday) said the alleged criminal activities and security challenges in some parts of the country are a plot by some politicians to discredit President Muhammadu Buhari and assassinate his character.
The royal father made this disclosure in his palace when Buhari paid a condolence visit to Katsina Emirate and family of late Chief Imam of Katsina, Muhammadu Liman Lawal, 92.
He told Buhari that the antics of his detractors were bound to fail despite their media propaganda as the ordinary Nigerians still display a great deal of goodwill and love for him.
He said the difficulty in delivery good governance in the country lies in the fact that about 80 per cent of the nation’s challenges are man-made.
The Emir however urged the President not to relent on his efforts at touching the lives of ordinary Nigerians as the Katsina State governor, Aminu Bello Masari, who he described as the Bulldozer of Katsina that has left no stone untouched towards improving the lots of the people of the President’s home state.
He expressed confidence that any leader who discharges State affairs with the fear of God would surely succeed, while commending the Masari administration’s efforts at bringing infrastructural and social development to all nooks and crannies of the state.
On the late Chief Imam, the Katsina monarch eulogised him as very humble, pious and dedicated cleric who discharged his duties to the people of Katsina and the Muslims world for nearly 40 unblemished years.
Earlier, President Muhammadu Buhari prayed the Almighty to grant the soul of the deceased eternal rest and give all beloved ones the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
The President, who spent the weekend in his Daura country home and participated in last Saturday’s nationwide ward congress of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at Sarkin Yara ‘A’ Ward, Daura, Katsina State, was seen off by Governor Masari and other top functionaries of the state at the Umaru Musa Yar’adua International Airport, Katsina, shortly after the condolence visit.
