Former chairman of the Peoples Demicratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State, Otunba Segun Adewale, has emerged the candidate of the Action Democratic Party (ADP) in the July 14 gubernatorial election in Ekiti State.
Adewale, emerged the ADP candidate at the party’s primary conducted in line with the Electoral Act, guideline of the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC). The ADP adopted the Option A4 pattern for the exercise.
The candidate said his victory is for the people of Ekiti State, noting that the process of making the state great has started.
The primary election, witnessed by the state ADP officials, INEC officials and national officers of the party, among whom were ADP national organizing secretary, Dr Lynn Olisa, national youth leader, national publicity secretary, Otunba Fatoyinbo, amongst others.
Speaking through his director of Media and Public Communications, Prince Adelaja Adeoye, Adewale said that a new and prosperous Ekiti has come, emphasizing the party is focused on creating wealth for the people.
He clinched the ticket with 16,890 votes out of the total votes of 17,600, about 96 per cent of all the votes cast at various wards across the 16 local governments in the state.
He has since been presented with the certificate by the party as the flagbearer ahead of July 14 election. Addressing a press conference after the primary, Adewale said he was concerned about the sufferings of the people and this drives him to work harder in order to bring succour to the people.
He also revealed his 7-Point Agenda which he said will be the fulcrum of his administration. His agenda are, offsetting all outstanding payments owed by the state government; fixing power within the state to re-invent the business environment; re-invite all business that had fled Ekiti; make the state a medicare destination; bring back to life all.moribund industries in the state; and create vocational centres and improve the educational sector.
Adewale further charged the Ekiti people to vote massively for the ADP at the polls to bring about a paradigm shift in the governing and running of the state.
