FFS Boss Bags National Productivity Order Of Merit Award



The Controller General, Federal Fire Service (FFS), Engr Joseph Garba Anebi was yesterday conferred with the prestigious National Productivity Order of Merit (NPOM) for 2018.

Engr Anebi who is the second Controller General of the Federal Fire Service (FFS) was presented the award by President Muhammadu Buhari in recognition of his outstanding skills,  dedication and immense contribution  to save lives and property, in Abuja.

LEADERSHIP further gathered that the Fire Service boss was picked for the award following the impressive turnaround of the fortunes of the Federal Fire Service which was almost moribund on his assumption of office.

The event which was tagged “Productivity For Economic Recovery and Sustainable Growth”, was chaired by Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige, in Abuja.

He is a member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, Fire Protection Association of Nigeria and Nigeria Institute of Safety Professionals.  He has bagged so many laurels some of which are, Certified Protection Professionals, Hamzat Specialist Firefighter 1V, Safety Officer and Distinguished Service.

Prior to his appointment, Engr Anebi held senior Professional Management positions both in the Ministry of Works and Federal Fire Service spanning Head of Inspectorate Unit Ijora Centeral Workshop Lagos, Head of R & AC Workshop/Mechanical Project in Bauchi, Head of Mechanical Workshop FMW&H Mabushi Abuja, Head of Federal Fire Service Workshop, Head of Policy Regulatory and Inspectorate Federal Fire Service Abuja, Head of Logistics, Federal Fire Service Abuja.

Engr Anebi on resumption of duty as the Controller General, came up with a result oriented strategy and implementation plan to chart a new course for the service and reposition it as an effective machinery of government for improved service delivery.

In his respond, Anebi pledged to ceaselessly work and toil for Nigeria, while also upholding in high esteem the value of human lives. “I love Nigeria my motherland. Serving this great nation and saving human lives is my priority,” he stated.
