Sokoto State government has earmarked 300 million Naira to assist both orphans, widows and the needy in this Ramadan and the forthcoming Sallah festivities, governor Aminu waziri Tambuwal has said.
Making the disclosure in a remark shortly after breaking Ramadan fast with People Living With Disabilities (PLWD) at the Government House, Tambuwal said he holds them in high esteem.
Tambuwal who assured them that his government will continue to initiate and implement policies that will further improve their well-being, added, that his government carries everybody along.
The governor, while reminding PLWD that his administration will never discriminate against anybody, stressed that his decision to host them for the Ramadan Iftar in the Government House was because of how important they were to him as citizens of the state.
He divulged that his administration inherited the payments of 6, 500 to PLWD in the state from his predecessor and has since sustained withe monthly payment so as to further improve their well-being.
The governor also assured them that the state assistance to children of PLWD to enable them pursue and acquire education still stands.
