The St Theresa Catholic Church has held special mass and procession to seek divine intervention to end the incessant killings in the country.
Most Rev Dami Mamza, Catholic Bishop of Yola Diocese, said the procession and mass was organised to pray for reposed of souls killed in Taraba, Benue, Adamawa ,Borno ,Yobe and Zamfara States by crisis.
Mamza urged federal government, to deploy more security taskforces to curtail increasing violence in the state as being experienced in other states.
“Many lives were lost to Boko Haram insurgency, farmer/herdsmen and kidnapping, hence the need to seek divine intervention to end killings in the country.
“This mass is organised not for Christians along, but for all Nigerians including Muslims and traditionalists affected by crisis.
“The church condemned in strong terms, any form of killings, we should treat ourselves as human beings at all times.”
