The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ondo State chapter has tackled the state governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, over what it called, “continuing dilapidation of infrastructures” in the state.

The party who accused Akeredolu of neglecting the people of the state also frowned at the current state of the Mother and Child Hospital, Akure.

This was contained in a statement issued by the Director of Publicity of the party, Ayo Fadaka.

Fadaka said the roof of the hospital have been partially blown off for months and has so remained so in spite of the fact that services in the hospital are no longer free.

According to him, “before the roofs was blown off, the  Mother and Child Care Centre built by the last administration has been generating millions for the government and they now abandoned it now, this is sad.’’

Fadaka noted that, “it clearly shows that the current administration does not care about the health of the citizenry.”

However, when LEADERSHIP visited the Mother and Child Hospital in Akure, the State Capital, it was gathered that the place had been abandoned since a terrible rainstorm occurred, which blew off several roofs and buildings in the metropolis over a month ago

Also, the entire premises had been overgrown by thorns and weeds, leaving the structures and once-serene atmosphere in a gory sight and state of reckless abandonment.

It was observed that the major and minor theatres were also affected by the windstorm, destroying the multi-million equipment in the section while others were packed and littered outside the building in an open space.
