The Senator representing Zamfara Central, Alhaji Kabiru Marafa, has purchased various food items worth N100million for distribution to his constituents and victims of insurgency attacks across Zamfara State for Ramadan.
Senator Marafa who flagged off the distribution at Yandoto in Tsafe local government area during the week said the distribution would extend beyond his senatorial district in order to reach out to victims of insurgency attacks that spread across the state as well as the physically challenged and Islamic scholars in other constituencies.
“In the precious years, our concentration was on the local governments within my senatorial district but I have decided to extend the gesture to other areas this time around”, Marafa added.
The personal assistant to the Senator, Alhaji Abubakar Doctor disclosed this while distributing the items to the beneficiaries at Yandoto in Tsafe Local Government o. He said other beneficiaries are traditional leaders, officials and supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Jumu’at Mosques, preaching centres and associations.
This is just as he noted that the Ramadan package to the widows, orphans and less privileged persons was aimed at bringing succor to the beneficiaries .1800 bags of maize were earmarked for the widows and orphans.
Abubakar, however urged the committees in charge of the distribution of the items to make sure that justice and fairness prevailed in the distribution of the items.
