A Lagos State Chief Magistrate’s Court sitting in Ebute Meta has remanded a school teacher, Olamide Akinbobola, who allegedly stabbed her husband to death in the Ikorodu area of the state, in Kirikiri Prison.
The court ordered that the 24-year-old woman be kept in prison pending the release of a legal advice from the State Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
Chief Magistrate, Mrs. O.A. Komolafe, who gave the order after Olamide was docked before her by the police on a one count charge of murder.
She also directed the prosecutor, Kehinde Omisakin, a police sergeant to duplicated the case file and send a copy to the DPP for advice.
Earlier, the prosecutor had told the court that the woman committed the offence on May 30 at No. 1, Olupebi Abijo St., Gbaga, off Ijede Road, Ikorodu.
He had further claimed that the accused stabbed her husband, Dare Akinbobola, 28, on his neck to death with a kitchen knife.
According to Omisakin the offence contravened Section 233 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015 (Revised).
The offence attracts death penalty.
The case has been adjourned until July 12.
