Kogi Govt PoisedTo Reposition Ochaja Radio

The Kogi State government has restated its commitment to reposition the Kogi State Radio Station at Ochaja, Dekina local government area of the state. The governor of the state, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, represented by his chief of staff, Edward Onoja, announced this intention, while reacting to the request by a delegation of Forum of Igala Journalists (FORIJA), who paid courtesy call on the governor at the State Liaison office, Asokoro, Abuja.

The governor said, the place of information in effective governance cannot be overemphasised, promising that, everything needed will be thrown to the works, to ensure that the Radio Station is repositioned for effective service delivery.

Earlier, the president of FORIJA, Comrade Augustine Aminu, in a speech, urged the state government to boost the operation of the station, so as to ensure that the people of the area are carried along, and adequately sensitised on government programmes and activities.

This, Comrade Augustine said, will enhance the understanding of the people on what government is doing to better their lives, instead of depending on rumours, which is most times are orchestrated and peddled by mischief makers for premeditated ends.

Speaking on why the group decided to partner the state government, the secretary general of FORIJA, Omonu Gowon-Nelson said, “This partnership is to ensure that government information is disseminated down to the grassroots.
