Village Head Decries Poor Health Facilities In Dei-Dei Community

Village head of Dei-Dei community in Bwari area council, Saidu Hamza Sani, has decried the poor state of health care centre in the area and described it as terrible.

In an interview with LEADERSHIP, at the weekend, Sani noted that only three rooms (bed space) are being used by the workers to attend to patients, with two beds in each of the rooms.

The monarch pointed out that there is shortage of health workers at the centre to attend to patients, while patients receive drip on the chairs, instead of on bed.

“The health care centre we have here is a small one with three bed spaces, and two beds in each of them, yet there are no enough health personnel that will be attending to the patients. In most cases the heath personnel give patients drip on the chairs instead of bed, because of poor state of facilities in the clinic.”

Another resident of the community, Abdullahi Jibrin called on the Bwari health department and FCT Health Secretariat to provide health facilities, as well as deploy more nurses to the heath centre.

Jibrin said that with improved facilities and adequate personnel it will assist residents to enjoy health care services better than what was presently on ground.

Also speaking, another resident, Mohammed Auwwal  noted that the health centre was established during the regime of former FCT minister, Ahmed Nasir el-Rufai, adding that since then, no attention has been given to the clinic.
