Group Urges Hon Aminu Abdulfatah to Contest 2019 Gubernatorial Election

Youths in Kaduna State under the aegis, Youth Coalition of Kaduna State which comprises youths from the three Senatorial zones of Kaduna State has met and resolved to urge Hon. Aminu Abdulfatah to make himself available for the exalted seat of Kaduna State Governor in the forthcoming elections in 2019.

The group that consist of the youth from all nooks and corners of the state  observed that the Kaduna state governor, Mallam Nasir-el-Rufai is surrounded by those that knew nothing about Kaduna politics. In a chat with Leadership, Abdullahi Abdulaziz who spoke on behalf of the Group noted that majority of those with the present government are those that their body is in APC but their souls are still with the opposition party, PDP. He said that, ”they are opportunist that care more about their pockets, we cannot sit back and fold our hands and watch APC loose grip in the state because of the personal interest of very few people working with the governor”. “We should stop deceiving ourselves that all is well in Kaduna APC. We, the grassroots politicians knew that all is not well”.

Speaking further, he said, “the youth groups are confident with and harbor hopes and aspirations for Hon. Aminu Abdulfatah. Much of this comes from their belief in him, his integrity, fairness, the fact that he is a renowned and thoroughbred politician, he has also been active in the political arena for more than three decades. Hon. Aminu Abdulfatah exudes truth and justness when entrusted with public governance”.

Hon. Aminu Abdulfatah belongs to a group of people that first drew President Muhammad Buhari into the political atmosphere back in 2003. This group was known then as The Think Tank Group which comprises but not limited to Mal. Mamman Daura, Mal. Adamu Adamu, Prof. Abdullahi Mustapha, Malam Salihu Abubakar, Alhaji Adamu Bello among others.

The  Group expresses their confidence in the person of Hon Aminu Abdulfatah as the person who possesses the capacity to steer the APC,  restore the much needed peace in the state considering the unfolding political uncertainties, and also restore the party back to its glorious days in the state.

He was born on October 4, 1959. An expert in international and traditional monetary system, information technology and public policy analyst.

He joined politics almost three decades ago, won election as a Member Representing Zaria constituency under the platform of National Republican Convention, NRC, to Kaduna State House of Assembly and subsequently became its Speaker.

He was able to restore peace in the state during the 1991 Zangon-Kataf skirmishes when the governor was out of the country.

He was one of the founding fathers of KOWA party alongside the business mogul, Mr. Fola Adeola and Engr. Hayatudeen among others.

Later, he  joined Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, where he contested for governorship seat in Kaduna state but lost to opposition PDP.

He served as Chairman Board of Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency, (SEMA). He later served as a board member Kaduna State Urban and Planning Development Agency, (KASUPDA).

He was a member of the first Buhari Think Tank Group in 2002. He also served as a committee member, ANPP national reconciliation and interparty contact committee during APC merger talks. He served as a committee member of ANPP during the creation of an alliance that gave birth to APC.

He is a member Northern Discussion Group and a member of Kaduna state APC caucus. He is a member of several political groups both at national, state and local government level.
