Private School Games 2018: Promoting Growth And Development Beyond The Classroom

School Games Limited, in partnership with the Association of Private Educators in Nigeria (APEN), hereby announces the first ever Sports Competition for Private Secondary Schools across the Federation.

The organizers are prepared to host over 50 schools that will compete in the following Sporting activities; Football, Basketball, Volleyball, Handball, Table Tennis, Lawn Tennis, Swimming, Boxing, Fencing and Track and field events.

Happening for the first time in Nigeria, School Games is set to inspire millions of young sports enthusiasts across Nigerian schools, who will participate in the sporting event. The Games aim to foster healthy friendships and interactions amongst children from diverse ethnicities, thus promoting the one-Nigeria dream via the power of sports.

Adeyemi Egbeoluwa, founder of the Private School Games Initiative states thus; “School Games is a dream come true. For us, it is an expression of hope in the coming generation and their hidden potentials beyond the conventional formal education. Sports is a vehicle for personal development. I have also come to realize that Sports competitions are key to the all-round development and growth of our Children. Competitions play a significant role in motivating students to effectively channel physical, mental and emotional strength for excellent performance while reinforcing the possibility mentality in young learners.”

It is important to quantify, identify and aggregate the total contribution of private school talents to the pool of young and emerging sports men and women across the country. Over the years Government-run schools have produced some of the country’s most celebrated athletes globally. While the public school sector has various initiatives sponsored by Government both on National and State level, such opportunities are few and far between for Private Schools sports competitions.

School Games Limited is determined to fill this void by organizing a world class multi-sport competition and marketing it as a platform where talented private secondary schools students can be identified, developed and nurtured. School Games will be focusing on private Schools to get more children interested in Sports and possibly, pursuing a career in same.
