The International coordinator of the Discipline Market Place Leaders (DML), Benita Reed-Thomas which is based in the United States of America yesterday charged African leaders to harness the potential of Africa continent, saying it has what it takes to be world’s economic powerhouse.
Speaking at the Discipline Market Place Leaders, DML, forum in Lagos hosted by Redeem Christian Church of God, Redemption House, Reed-Thomas pointed out that Africa is moving towards full development and with capacity to transform from current economy outlook of $1 trillion to achieve over $20 trillion by 2050.
Reed-Thomas noted that it will need to build capacity of leaders to actualise that dream, saying over the next 32 years, Africa will cease being the poor, hopeless continent and become an economic and spiritual world power.
She said, “Africa has the potential to become both an economic powerhouse and a spiritual giant, capable of fulfilling great commission, but it must understand how to unlock its potential.”
Thomas-Reed added that Church in Nigeria must be forward looking to remain healthy to impact the required capacity to members.
Also speaking the Coordinator of the program, Pastor Kunle Olusanya said empowerment and leadership is key to making the people realize their potential and engage in development of the society apart from the Church.
Olusanya, said efforts should be geared towards encouraging members rather than the Church being expectant all the time, as it may not produce results asking someone in need to always donate to Church development.
