As the 2019 general elections approach, the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has disclosed that it would soon commence sensitisation campaigns in rural communities in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on the need to live peacefully with one another and to avoid any action capable of causing trouble.
The secretary, Area Councils Services Secretariat (ACSS), Alhaji Adamu Bappah, who revealed this to newsmen, at the weekend, explained that the campaign became necessary, considering the concentration of people in the area councils of the territory, where most politicians solicit for votes during elections.
“We are carrying out the sensitization campaign to let our people understand that they have to live in peace and harmony with one another. It is the responsibility of the secretariat to always ensure that people live peacefully with one another.”
Bappah stated that the secretariat has taken steps to avert further breach of peace in the ancient town of Bwari, adding that the police are still investigating the matter.
He maintained that the administration had achieved considerable success in restoring peace and order in the area and cannot allow any of peace process to be truncated by any group.
