Aviation agencies, including the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB) have pledged commitment to the forthcoming 22nd annual seminar of the League of Airport and Aviation Correspondents (LAAC), scheduled to hold at Sheraton Hotels, Lagos.
Other major agencies and companies that have also offered support to the league for the successful hosting of the seminar include the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), Skyway Aviation Handling Company Limited (SAHCOL) and the Nigerian Aviation Handling Company (NAHCOaviance) PLC.
The association said in a statement that the organisations have already expressed satisfaction with the theme of this year’s seminar: ‘Financing Aviation Development through Private Sector Partnership,’ describing it as well-thought out and apt, especially as government is seeking more private sector participations to grow the economy.
Managing director of FAAN, Engr. Saleh Dunoma, enjoined the association to use the event as a vehicle to help drive the much-desired development in the sector.
In his reaction sent across by the general manager, Corporate Communications, Mrs. Henrietta Yakubu, he also charged the league to pursue professionalism and eschew sensationalism in its reportage.
Also speaking on the seminar, the AIB through its general manager public affairs, Mr. Tunji Oketumbi lauded the league, describing the seminar as a platform for ideas.
The annual seminar and gala night would hold on July 19 while Mr. Nick Fadugba, Dr. Harold Demuren, Mr. Babatunde Irukera and Mr. Ayo Obilana would deliver different papers at the occasion.
Minister of State for Aviation, Sen. Hadi Sirika would be the guest of honour.
