The Nigeria Police are on the manhunt for suspected killers of seven policemen in Galadimawa, roundabout, Abuja. This was revealed by the Force PRO, Jimoh Moshood, while reacting to the killings of the Policemen. About seven policemen were killed at about 8pm on Monday, after some gunmen opened fire on their checkpoint in Abuja.
The policemen, who were stationed at Galadimawa roundabout, in Abuja were shot at and seven died instantly while one was wounded. One of the residents of the area, who prefers not to be mentioned, said the armed men drove to the roundabout and opened fire on the policemen; while another eyewitness said the assiliants were stopped for search by the police when they opened fire.
Speaking further, the Force PRO said the killings of the policemen goes along way to prove that the call for the disbandment of the Special Anti Robbery Sqaud is not justified as these armed men are always on the rampage and need effective police like SARS to tackle them. He further explained that investigation into the shooting and killing of the policemen have commenced and the police will stop at noting up until they are arrested and prosecuted.
