The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Federal Capital Territory (FCT), chapter, has accused the chairman of the council, Hon. Adamu Mustapha Danze of defecting to the ruling All Progressives congress (APC), because he couldn’t keep with the ideologies of the party (APGA).
In an interview with LEADERSHIP at the weekend, vice chairman FCT APGA, Mr James Chukwu, maintained that APGA’s ideologies aim at ensuring mass development, empowerment and sustainable development.
Chukwu stated that the defected Gwagwalada area council chairman is still holding APGA’s mandate, adding that the party would examine his defection because it was the party that won the election and not Danze, as an individual.
“Our party remains focused. We have no problem with his defection, but one thing is certain, the party at the higher level will sit down and look at his defection because he is still with our mandate.
“We are going to make sure we fight and get our mandate back after all we have a case with APC at the tribunal which we are expecting the judgment soon,” he said.
He added that APGA, which is guided by its constitution, would bestow its mandate on whosoever that is empowered by the constitution, to complete the mandate.
LEADERSHIP gathered that though the chairman defected to the APC, his deputy is yet to resign from APGA, as his letter of resignation (defection) was not among those presented to the Gwagwalada APGA chairman.
