Orlando Julius Serenades Fans At European Cities Music Tour

Veteran high life singer, Orlando Julius, just concluded a music tour of European cities.

And the Afrobeat cum Afrosoul sure tantalised his fans giving the credence that old wine does taste better. The musician, who has been in fore front of exporting the beauty of Nigerian music nay African music for five decades, performed excellently and seamlessly in Tilburg, Netherland and German cities where some African musicians do not dare to perform.

The septuagenarian and his band, sang a retinue of their old tunes, adding it to his yet to be released new album. According to reports at the music festival, OJ Ekemode was said to be the highlight of Festival as his vibrant and sweet music made a lot of audience to dance and gyrate to the rhythm. Also, another singer from Africa precisely, Ghanaian Legend Ebo Taylor, gave a great performance.

According to his wife, Latoya Aduke, the music veteran continues his tour in the North American city in Canada this weekend and then Montpelier in France after performing in Prague and back to Germany.

Few artists have been more crucial to the invention, development, and popularisation of Afro-pop than Orlando Julius, who’s building the biggest music studio in Osun State. Starting in the ‘60s, Julius was fusing traditional African sounds and rhythms with those of American pop, soul, and R&B. Aside from performing and recording in his native Nigeria, he spent many years in the United States working on collaborations with Lamont Dozier, the Crusaders, and Hugh Masekela. His 1966 effort, Super Afro Soul, made him a national celebrity in Nigeria and even went so far as to influence music in the United States.
