SGF Boss Mustapha

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF),Boss Mustapha has assured that the federal government will continue to execute projects across the country as part of efforts to demonstrate the sincerity of purpose of the Buhari administration towards entrenching justice, equity and fair play to all.

The SGF  noted that proper execution and equitable distribution  of people-oriented projects, will provide a window of opportunity for economic growth of communities and unlock the potentials which are in tandem with the Buhari administration’s policy thrust, especially on infrastructural development.

He spoke in Kaduna at a stakeholders sensitization seminar with the theme: “The Spread of Socio-economic and Infrastructural Facilities – Need for Strategic Partnership with Stakeholders”, organised by the Federal Character Commission (FCC).

According to the SGF, in order to address critical infrastructural deficit in the country, especially in roads and power projects across the country, the President has approved the establishment of Presidential Infrastructural Development Fund (PIDF) which he said is managed by the National Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA).

“The objective of the PIDF is to ensure prompt and timely execution of projects devoid of the bottlenecks that accompany such exercises”.

The SGF further pointed out that some projects being addressed by President Buhari’s administration included the second Niger Bridge, Lagos-Ibadan Express Way, Abuja-Kaduna-Kano Express Way, amongst others.

“As we are all aware, development of any kind can only thrive in a peaceful and secure society.

“Therefore, the government has been addressing cases of rural banditry and kidnapping both in cities and in rural areas. Additional security measures are being put in place to curb the violence in Zamfara and neighbouring states”.

Earlier, the acting executive chairman of the Federal Character Commission, said, the forum was aimed at sensitising stakeholders which include representatives of state,   Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs)of government,  security agencies, private sector and organised labour  in the North West on the mandate of the commission in tracking the provision of socio-economic and infrastructure facilities to Nigerians.
