The Diamond Bank Plc said it is targeting one million youths in its financial literacy campaign.
Speaking during the visit of Greensprings School, Lekki to the Diamond Bank Academy in Lagos, head, Consumer Banking, Diamond Bank Plc, Kari Tukur, revealed that the Dreamville app was the first gamified portal in Nigeria and would suit the customers’ changing lifestyles and needs as well as teach them about financial literacy.
“Dreamville does not only enable youths learn and develop a healthy savings habit and build prudent expenditure profile, it also helps customers understand diverse investment portfolios, link their respective accounts with social media channels and chat with friends, thereby encouraging positive competition whilst teaching you about financial literacy,” she said.
Tukur further stated that “This year we are targeting a million customers and one of the most exciting thing we are doing is to set up an internship program at Diamond Bank and based on how your account is performing and how you are using Dreamville, you have an opportunity to come and work in Diamond Bank and we are actually open to 50 kids this year and we want to continue every year.”
She also explained that the portal platform was not limited to only Diamond Bank customers but one can earn more points if he has a Diamond Bank account because the account is tied to the portal.
Corroborating her, head, Youth Segment of the bank, Adaeze Umeh, urged parents to allow their kids to engage with the simplified digital financial platform which would enable youths to plan their financial future, adding that the portal comes with offerings such as games, comics, tournaments, animation, airtime purchase/savings goals and competitions.
