APC Guber Aspirant Lauds Wike For Completing Amaechi’s Projects

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, Comrade Celestine Akpobari, has lauded Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, for embarking on completion of projects allegedly initiated by his successor and minister of Transportation, Mr Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi. This is as former national publicity secretary of the defunct New Peoples Democratic Party (nPDP), Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, called on Wike to apologise to former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, for leading him to commission an alleged collapsed road.
Akpobari spoke yesterday when he appeared on a live radio programme, which was monitored in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.
He said, “If we understood that roads and streetlights, etc, are our rights as enshrined in the law, we won’t celebrate commissioning of street lights. Though I commend him for completing his predecessor’s projects.”

Akpobari, who is a governorship aspirant on the platform of the APC, said the governor has not planned to boost the economy of the state, unlike Amaechi, who established the Buguma Fish Farm and Songhai Farm to boost food production and job creation. He said, “Rivers State government under Wike has not planned anything to boost our economy. During Amaechi era, he created the Buguma Fish Farm, the Songhai Farm, etc. These were projects that provided jobs and a boost to the economy of our state.”
Meanwhile, the former nPDP spokesman, Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, has urged Wike to apologise to former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar as well as the Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki and others who he invited to commission roads in the state.

Eze, in a statement issued in Port Harcourt yesterday said, “This road project of about a quarter kilometre in Omueke in Isiokpo LGA without a known contract sum and proper drainage and earth work was washed away by a five minute rains, after it was commissioned by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar on June 21, 2018 thereby wasting the hard earned scarce funds of the state. “It is unfortunate that every single rain in Rivers State these days washes off most of the fake projects of Governor Nyesom Wike including some of the internal roads in Ogbunabali community in the heart of Port Harcourt City, Okeh Avenue off Eastern bypass.

“These acts of re-commissioning projects already completed by his predecessors have become the hallmark of the administration of Governor Wike and it is unfortunate and condemnable.
“The long stretch of road (18.1km) from the Airport to NTA Road which Wike only provided plants, barbed wire and the street lights was first conceived by Governor Ada George, commenced by Governor Peter Odili, constructed by Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi and for Wike to claim credit for constructing the road is unfortunate, unacceptable and condemnable. The Senate President needs to be apologised to accordingly.
