Kaduna State governor, Malam Nasir el-Rufai, yesterday, said every politician needs the Journalists more than the Journalists needs them, stressing that no politician can effectively succeed without the media.
The governor who stated this through his counsellor on Information and Communication, Hon. Saidu Adamu, while interacting with Journalists at an interactive session at the Kaduna Council Secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) also stressed that government needs the media in projecting its activities to the populace.
“We need you as journalists more than you need us as politicians,” he said.
The counsellor who is a former member of the Kaduna State House of Assembly and commissioner of Information said that governor Nasir el-Rufai in his quest to making Kaduna great again, has embarked on life changing projects across the 23 local government areas of the state but little is heard about them.
He, therefore, appealed to the Journalists in the state to forgive the government of past mistakes and collaborate with the present government to make Kaduna great again and achieve the needed growth and development.
“Mistakes are part and parcel of human being, I want us to forget the mistakes of the past and forge ahead.
“We should forget the past and be focused on how to move forward. We are human beings we make mistakes,” he said.
