The senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani has advised Nigerians to vote the party and candidates of their choice in the 2019 general election.
Senator Sani made this call, Tuesday, in Abuja, as one of the recipients of the 2018, Blue Print Newspaper Award. He praised President Muhammadu Buhari for his recent call to Nigerians to vote party and candidate of their choice.
“Contrary to the call by the Transport minister for Nigerians to vote for the APC, I encourage Nigerians to vote for the candidate and party of their choice.
“President Muhammadu Buhari has already set the precedent, when he advised Nigerians to vote for the party and candidate of their choice. I think that serves democracy, better.”
Sani’s call at the occasion may not be unconnected with the minister of transport, Rotimi Ameachi, who while receiving the award advised Nigerians to vote the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the coming elections.
On his part, the Governor of Central Bank, Godwin Emefiele thanked the management of the Blue Print Newspaper for finding his moderate achievements worthy of recognition, saying “the award is certainly a morale booster.”
The chairman of Blue Print Newspaper, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, in a welcome address noted that, “As the Fourth Estate of the Realm in the Nigerian governance space, it is imperative that the media continues to champion discourses and provide platforms for exchange of views among stakeholders.”
Alhaji Idris said, the Blue Print Newspaper was proud to have ‘balance’ reportage as one of its core values. He advised the media not only to carry the flag of objective reportage but, also constructive criticism and celebration of achievements.
