Taraba APC Crisis: Stakeholders Seek Oshiomhole’s Intervention

Chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC) under the aegis of Taraba APC Neutral Group (TANEG) has urged the national leadership of the party to wade into the factional crisis that has engulfed the party in the state.

According to a statement by TENEG chairman, Aliyu Madaki Babangida, the stakeholders said the activities of the two APC splinter groups in Taraba State have resulted in dividing the party into different camps as both factions are struggling to control the soul of the party in the state.

He, therefore, called for the intervention of the national chairman of the party to enable the it wrest power from the PDP in the state.

He said. “We at TANEG resolved to seek for the intervention of the National Chairman to rescue the party from this unnecessary havoc and split because if it is allowed to widen up,it won’t argur well for the party, especially as we are approaching electioneering year.

Our decision to take up this matter were informed by series of petitions, complaints of aggrieved party members and all-inclusive umbrella may not be extended to anyone who did not belong to any of those splinter camp groups.

“TANEG is realistic and honest enough not to assume that the whole of the APC members in Taraba State belongs to one and small political ideology, but believes in the spirit of alignment and realignment in smelting common goals and objectives, which is to oust PDP from power in the state for good governance.

“We believe, to achieve these common objectives is for our party in this state to put its house in order and avoid any suspicion capable of splitting the party which could reduce its  strength.

“Our group believes in free and all-inclusive leadership that will be neutral to any bonafide member of APC in Taraba. Therefore we will welcome any move to have one solidified APC in Taraba. We are against any division.

In the meantime, we urge the splinter groups within Taraba APC to come together and mend any crack for stronger formidable party.”
